Stone monument set on concrete base with tablet inset on one side. Base of sundial on top of stone.
The stone was erected by the Cardigan branch of Urdd in 1961. Although the stone is on private land, it can be viewed from the pavement and the present tenant of the house is happy to show the stone to visitors. Apparently there are plans to move the stone up onto the pavement so that it will be more visible and accessible.
Ifan ap Edwards lodged in the house in 1921 and whilst there he wrote the article that inspired the setting up of Urdd Gobaith Cymru the following year.
Incised on panel on side of stone: YN Y TY HWN / YN HYDREF 1921 / YR YSGRIFENNODD / IFAN AB OWEN EDWARDS / YR ERTHYGL / A GYCHWYNNODD / URDD GOBAITH CYMRU / CODWYD Y GARREG HON GAN BWYLLGOR / SIR ABERTEIFI O'R URDD, HYDREF 1961.
