Broadway Wall Relief Sculpture
Cywaith Cymru notes: 'The work incorporates images from the recent history of the south Wales valleys. Heavy industry and mining are represented by pistons, flywheels, gears and cogs. The relief is symbolically contained within a giant v shape, representing the topography of the Welsh valleys and is crowned by twin wheels depicting the winding gear of the pit head.'
The work of art was commissioned for the large concrete retaining wall at Pontypridd Station. It was financed by Railtrack, Mid Glamorgan County Council and Taff Ely Borough Council.
