Detail from: Memorial to 158 Squadron by Peter W. Naylor, 2009

Sign Post

Type Marker

Cast-iron sign post with cylindrical base and shaft and three arms with pointing fingers. Sign post is painted black and white which looks fairly recent. The Cadw report of January 1998 notes that one of the arms is missing but this had been replaced by the time of inspection in July 1999 so perhaps the sign post was re-painted at the same time.

Raised lettering on three arms with pointing fingers: LONGTOWN 6 MILES / ABERGAVENNY 4 1/2 MILES / LLANTHONY 6 MILES
