Boundary Stone

Summary

Type Marker

     Single free-standing stone with incised lettering.
     Nineteenth century parish boundary stone marking the old Llantood - Eglwyswrw boundary, now wholly within Eglwyswrw community. Others are on bridge parapets at Pont Brynberian, Pont Y Glasier, Pont Gynon, Pont Rhiwfelen and by the roadside east of Trewilym. (See Record No. PEMB026).
    

Inscriptions

Incised into front of stone: EGLWYSWRW / BOUNDARY / LLANTOOD / BOUNDARY Parish names written in a semi-circle above the word 'boundary'. Inscribed hand with fingers pointing in north direction. South side worn away.
