Andrew Fraser Memorial Clock

Summary

Type Clock Tower

     Clock constructed from ?fibreglass painted blue and gold. Coats of arms on white background on three lower panels, plaques containing inscriptions on other one. Clock topped by gold-ball finial and Prince of Wales feathers. Top of clock decorated with alternating Maltese Crosses and fleur-de-lys. Small gold rosetts around top and base of clock shaft which is segmented. Clock is enclosed by ornate wrought-iron work.
     The clock was presented to the people of Colwyn Bay by Mr. & Mrs. S. Fraser in memory of their son, Andrew, who died of cancer in 1984.
     Andrew P. Fraser (1950-1984) born in Colwyn Bay and died in Brussels.

FRASER, B.S.c., F.C.A. / BORN 1ST MAY 1950 COLWYN BAY / DIED 16TH FEB 1984 BRUSSELS / TO COMMEMORATE THEIR SON'S / SHORT LIFETIME DURING / WHICH HE ACHIEVED SO MUCH / A HUMANITARIAN, MUSICIAN / MOUNTAINEER & TRAVELLER / TIME IS PRECIOUS / ERECTED 8TH SEPT 1989 Inscription on plaque fixed below above: THIS CLOCK IS A TRIBUTE TO THE CRAFTSMEN OF THE / ANCIENT AND VENERABLE FIRM OF J.B. JOYCE & Co. / OF WHITCHURCH, SHROPSHIRE.
