On two plaques attached to metal boundary fence, immediately behind the sheep-seat: 1) SHEEP SEAT FOR / BATTERSEA / CHILDREN'S ZOO / April 2001 / This new piece of Sculpture has been / commissioned by Wandsworth Council to / commemorate the Zoo's 50th year of giving / children the opportunity to interact with and / experience a variety of animals, at close / quarters in a city environment. / The sculpture has been made in Battersea / Park, recycling a storm felled tree from a / part of the park close to the Zoo. / The sculpture will be sited within the Zoo, / close to the main entrance.
