National Recording Project

Detail from: Memorial to 158 Squadron by Peter W. Naylor, 2009

Type Street Furniture

Timber seats with stainless steel supports.
Information from Artworks Wales: 'The project arose as a result of this site being included in a consultation process, where the residents were asked about their priorities for improvements to various aspects of their environment. The benches were designed after discussions which included residents of the flats, who then worked with the artist to come up with a number of options for the design they felt would make the most visible difference to the grounds. Residents who were unable to attend the discussions and workshops also had a say in the final choice, as the proposed designs were distributed to every flat.' The work was financed by Flintshire County Council.
