Sundial

Summary

Type Sculpture

Circular steel sundial surmounted with steel plates, chain links and leaves. Set on brick base with two steps inset into sculpture bearing inscription.
The sculpture was commissioned as part of large-scal environmental improvements taking place in Pontardawe. The work symbolises the history and past industry of the area as well as the strength of the thriving local community. It also acts as a sundial when the viewer steps onto a recess to cast his shadow over the work.
