Information from Cywaith Cymru: 'The commissioning of art for Holyhead was part of a scheme to place high quality sculpture in public places to reflect the city's history and contemporary development as well as acting as a focus of identity for the local community. This work was the result of a competition sponsored by Holyhead Joint Venture.'
The work was inspired by a journey between Holyhead and Ireland taken by the artist and represents the links between Wales and Ireland.
