Bluestone Pillar

Type Marker , Shaft

     Large upright Bluestone pillar.
The pillar was one of two brought down from the crest of Carnmenyn by an RAF Chinook helicopter in April 1989. The Bluestones were donated by the Lord of the Manor of Mynachlogddu to English Heritage, one to be displayed at Stonehenge, the other erected at Mynachlog-Ddu to indicate place of origin.
The pillar was erected on site with the co-operation of Preseli Pembrokeshire District Council, as part of the celebrations marking the Silver Jubilee of the Cystic Fibrosis Research Trust.
