National Recording Project

Detail from: Memorial to 158 Squadron by Peter W. Naylor, 2009

Library Mural

Type Panel

Two panels of an alphabet mural in tiles on north facing exterior walls of public library.
The work was commissioned by Caerphilly County Borough Council as part of a three year programme, with funding from the Arts Lottery, to improve and refurbish towns in the county. The artists were found and the individual projects managed by Cywaith Cymru.
The mural is a celebration of the multitude of ways in which we communicate. It makes reference to the building's function as a place of learning and invites public interaction by allowing passers by to find messages hidden in the text.
