Commissioned by the Committee of the Happy Winter Evening Entertainments in 1912, to commemorate the first printing press in Wales which was set up in Newcastle Emlyn in 1718.
Letters incised in slate and painted white: THIS TABLET IS ERECTED / BY THE COMMITTEE / OF THE HAPPY WINTER EVENING / ENTERTAINMENTS 1912, / TO COMMEMORATE THE SETTING UP / OF THE / FIRST PRINTING PRESS / IN WALES, / NEAR THIS SPOT, BY / ISAAC CARTER, / IN THE YEAR / 1718.
