Mosaic Roundel

Type Other

Multi-coloured glass mosaic roundel featuring bird with outstretched wings (?kingfisher) over water. THE TAFF TRAIL etched in white around right-hand rim of work.
The roundel is one of a number of art projects along the Taff Trail. The 55 mile Trail runs from Cardiff to Brecon. The idea was originally launched in 1988 with the vision of creating a safe and attractive long-distance footpath and cycle way. The project was co-ordinated by the Merthyr and Cynon Groundwork Trust, and a range of organisations including local authorities, private enterprise and the voluntary sector.
