Information from Cywaith Cymru: 'The Llanelli Millennium Coastal Park project is one of the most imaginative of all the millennium schemes with sustainability as a keymark. 21 kms of coast between Loughor and Pembrey have been transformed into a magnificent linear park giving access to the coast, in many places for the first time. The National Cycle Route runs through the park following the coastline. Industrial wastelands have been cleared. Major engineering and landscaping schemes have remodelled the land. Artists have played a crucial role in this process marking the park with distinctive landforms as well as actual markers .. The Millennium Coastal Park Project was developed with funding from the Millennium Commission, Carmarthenshire County Council, the Welsh Development Agency and various other organisations. Cywaith Cymru have acted as Art Co-ordinators for the project.'
