Type Statue

     Standing figure of Hill faces East, in contemporary dress; holds pen and pocket book. Hollow chamfered square pedestal with two small steps. Shell motifs at upper corners.


On east side of pedestal, painted in gold: ROWLAND HILL./ HE FOUNDED UNIFORM PENNY POSTAGE./ 1840
