Broom's Cross 1977 Silver Jubilee Memorial

Summary

Type Cross , Marker

Modern Grey Granite chamfered cross set in an older red sandstone base. One side has a plaque, the other being decorated with the letters (polished) 'IHS' in a rosette.
There are no minute references to the erection of this monument, which is on the site of a much older 'pilgrim's cross', this latter presumably in wood. The base may, therefore, be that of the original.
