Type Sculpture

     Two relief panels. The one on the left represents a man teaching a youth, the one on the right a mother instructing two small children
     The building was adapted to a library in 1870, the relief panels were produced by Fontana in 1878.


Inscribed on right hand panel:WISDOM IS THE PRINCIPAL THING/THEREFORE GET WISDOM, AND WITH/ LL THY GETTING, GET UNDERSTANDING Inscribed on left hand panel:TAKE FAST HOLD OF INSTRUCTION/LET HER NOT GO, KEEP HER, FOR/SHE IS THY LIFE JM. MDCCCLXXVIII [Both of these inscriptions have been taken from Proverbs 2-4 verses 7 and 8 respectively.]
