     A largely circular panel, it is similar to the artist's other contemporary signs. The decorative figures and details are highly stylised and tightly arranged and the undulating lines and rounded modelling are typical of his work.
     Commissioned by Allied Artists of Birmingham, Kings' agents and contractors for the decorative detailing of Ansells' restaurant, built by the local architects Kelly and Surman, and opened in 1962.(1)
