The sculpture stands upon an octagonal brick plinth. There are four bronze plaques set flush with the top of the brick plinth, one at each point of the compass. The two identical plaques to the front and rear of the sculpture show an abstract feather design; on the left, the plaque shows a man climbing up stairs; and on the right the design somewhat resembles an hour glass, but the upper part has been distorted to show the corner of two lines of modern buildings in sharp perspective. The base of the sculpture itself is a sphere with a segment cut out from it, and inscribed with the names of the areas around Telford which make up the district of Telford and Wrekin. It is surmounted by a claw shape that supports a fragment of a clock face inscribed V VI. This curves round, leaving a gap in the shape of a crescent moon. A separate rounded piece hangs from the top of the crescent. From the lower edge of the crescent, a shape similar to an egg cup rises.
