Abstract Sculpture

Type Sculpture

Set on a roundabout, a steel arc pierced by holes of diminishing size, stands amongst arcs of ochre and grey gravel, interspersed by boulders of various sizes. Five wire cables from the top of the sculpture down to five of the boulders and three stretched across them combine to create the impression of a spider's web to one side of the circular roundabout. Plants growing beside the boulders are presumably intended to grow up the wires.
The piece was developed and landscaped by the Wolverhampton office of the Mason Richards Partnership as a condition of Asda being awarded planning permission to develop the site for a supermarket and car parking.
