Summary

Type War Memorial , War Memorial

     War memorial wth statues. Three bronze figures with reversed rifles: sailor (south west), airman with cap (south east), soldier with tin helmet and backpack (north) stand at the corners of a traingular pedestal with chamfered corners. From the latter a Doric column rises with an elaborate bronze and glass lantern on top.
     The overall cost of the memorial was in excess of £2000. The figures cost £120 to be moulded and £200 to be cast. The bronze tablet cost £250 and the lamp £200.(1). The builder was John Green, Senior.
